E33G
Remote worker KITAS
E33G is Indonesia's answer to the people who were already here on tourist visas with laptops open. A year of residence for work you do for companies outside the country, multiple entry, and no local sponsor to find — but the income test is real and it is checked.

- E33G
What it covers
- Working online for an employer or clients based outside Indonesia
- 12 months of residence, multiple entry — fly in and out freely
- No Indonesian sponsor company required
- Bringing dependants, in the usual case
Where it stops
- No work for an Indonesian company and no Indonesian clients
- No income from any Indonesian source, and no selling inside the country
- Not extendable — a further year means applying again from the start
- Foreign income of around USD 60,000 a year must be evidenced, along with bank statements
Questions people ask
- What income do I have to prove?
- The published threshold is roughly USD 60,000 a year from foreign sources, evidenced by a contract with a company registered outside Indonesia, plus bank statements showing around USD 2,000 over the preceding three months. Confirm the current figures with your agent before filing — this is the requirement applications fail on.
- Can I take on an Indonesian client while I am here?
- No, and this is the condition that breaks the permit. Payment from any Indonesian entity — a client, an employer, a sale inside the country — is outside what E33G allows.
- Can I extend it for a second year?
- Not as an extension. E33G runs twelve months and stops; staying longer means a fresh application, or moving to a different permit altogether.
