- What income do I have to prove?
- The published threshold is roughly USD 60,000 a year from foreign sources, evidenced by a contract with a company registered outside Indonesia, plus bank statements showing around USD 2,000 over the preceding three months. Confirm the current figures with your agent before filing — this is the requirement applications fail on.
- Can I take on an Indonesian client while I am here?
- No, and this is the condition that breaks the permit. Payment from any Indonesian entity — a client, an employer, a sale inside the country — is outside what E33G allows.
- Can I extend it for a second year?
- Yes. E33G renews a year at a time online, filed before the current permit expires, and you clear the same income and employment bar each time. There is no fixed cap on how many years you can keep renewing, as long as you still qualify.
